Then apply the Stoic idea of control: split the pattern into “my choices” vs “things outside my control.” If the same choice shows up in different settings (e.g., avoid hard talks, chase approval, over-give), you’re likely seeing a pattern. Using Stoic as your daily companion, return to the same list over a few days—patterns get clearer with a little distance.

Start by thanking the pattern for what it tried to do (protect, belong, prevent conflict).
